Tom began The Buchanan Gallery after retiring from 3M Canada as a Technical Services Manager.  On the day he left the company, it snowed in Vancouver.  He was up in Queen Elizabeth park on Little Mountain photographing the unusual snow fall in the city and a friend asked him what he was going to do now.  He said he didn't know.  His friend suggested he become a professional photographer, so he did.  The results are what you see on this site.

 

Tom is prolific in his interest in photography and loves to get out there and get a few shots.  He loves his adopted home of Coaldale, AB and with his wife Maggie he can be found out and about day or night adding to their stock library.  Tom also teaches photography at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden several times a year and workshops at Paradise Canyon Golf Resort during the various seasons and has taught photography at the Norton Centre in Coaldale Alberta for several years.
